January has a way of making us look at our homes with fresh eyes. We clear out the holidays, edit and ask ourselves: could this work better for us?
In our kitchen, we had a small dining area with an awkward corner. It technically “worked,” but it collected things and didn’t really invite anyone to sit. So we designed a custom banquette and completely changed how the space functions.
Now this corner is:
- cozy and welcoming
- a favorite spot for coffee, homework, and everyday meals
- extra storage (even better, its disguised!)
- proof that thoughtful design can change how a space is lived in
